2026 Memberships are now available!
-
Members in our pork and poultry CSA are entitled to 20 whole, fresh, shrink-wrapped chickens, to be distributed 5 at a time on 4 pickup days during the season, as well as 1/4 of a pig, delivered at the final pickup date. Members who are interested can also reserve a Thanksgiving Turkey, and/or a share of our rabbit herd, at an additional cost.
Dressed, whole chickens will average 4.5-5 pounds. Early season birds tend to weigh a little less, while late summer are a little more.
A typical 1/4 pig will include approximately 35 pounds of finished meat:
5 lbs bacon
5 lbs sausage
7 lbs ham
15 lbs chops, roasts, and ribs
Along with these typical retail cuts, your share will include leaf lard and back fat ready to be rendered for use in cooking and baking, as well as marrow bones to prepare stocks and soups, or as a treat for your four-legged companions.
In addition to the end products, as a member, you have an open invitation to visit the farm and see the animals for yourself. Just give us a call and we will happily show you around. You are also welcome to participate in daily chores, and join us on chicken harvesting day.

After getting their start in the brooder, our chickens and turkeys are pasture-raised with access to fresh grass daily and as much sunshine as the weather allows. This allows them to scratch the ground, hunt for tasty plants and bugs, and otherwise act like chickens. We process our poultry on-farm, butchering as humanely as possible.
-
From the time they are weaned, our pigs are raised on pasture, rotating frequently to fresh land. This regular movement decreases parasite issues and land impact, making for happy, healthy pigs. We breed and raise our own Idaho Pasture Pigs, and will supplement with additional piglets from local farmers if demand exceeds our sows' litter size. We will be partnering with Cedar Dell Angus Meats, in Redwood, for our 2024 pork processing.
-
Rabbits are an optional - and still experimental - addition to your membership. We have 7 New Zealand does and 2 bucks all ready for their first breeding season. Since these are our first rabbits, and this will be their first time reproducing, it’s hard to make predictions about how the season will unfold.
By selecting the “rabbit” add-on in your CSA order, you will be entitled to one doe’s entire first litter (NZ average 8 kits per litter), as well as half of each subsequent litter in the 2026 season, up to a total of 20 rabbits.
We expect to retail rabbits for $10/lb, with an average weight of 3 lbs/rabbit. If it’s a good season, that means your 20 rabbits were 75% off! If you should receive fewer than 30 lbs of total rabbit meat, we will offer a refund of the retail difference in cash or store farm credit.

Because we believe in supporting local business as much as possible, the grain used to supplement our animals’ pasture diet comes from Riverbay Too, right here in Hammond.

One CSA share Is $620 for chicken and pork, with added turkeys beginning at $55. We are offering a half share of 10 chickens and a quarter pig for $480.
50% of this is due at the time of reservation to claim your share, 25% before the third pickup date, and the final 25% before pork shares are distributed.
Members who elect to pay in full up front will receive an additional chicken at one of the regularly scheduled pickup dates. Deposits are non-refundable after March 15.
Please make checks payable to Sweet Wind Farm INC

We will take reservations for up to 25 memberships in 2026.
This is the only way we are offering chickens this season! If we have extras after covering member shares, we will offer them for retail, but we are not raising additional birds for that express purpose.
-
Can I purchase a partial share? Yes! New this year, half shares are available. This still includes a 1/4 pig, but only ten chickens
Can I purchase multiple shares? Absolutely! You may reserve up to the remaining number of shares available when you make your reservation and submit your deposit.
Are orders guaranteed? We plan to produce roughly double the amount of pork and poultry we are making available to members this year. As such, we expect to have more than enough to fulfill all memberships. However, there is always risk. In the event of a catastrophic loss that cannot be recovered (eg, major loss to predators or disease), we will issue refunds for the portion lost, minus the cost of feed and initial livestock purchase.
